MAS6253 – 40Vpp Piezo Driver IC for Multi-Tone Sound

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces piezo driver IC in a small DFN-10 2x2x0.5 mm package. It is a high efficiency, easy to use and low cost solution for piezo sound applications requiring high sound pressure level (SPL). Typical applications include piezo buzzers, alarm devices, white goods and handheld or portable devices with sound feature.

The heart of the IC is a high efficiency synchronous boost DC/DC converter requiring only a small 0806 sized 2.2H inductor. The output voltage is regulated and adjustable up to 20V either in pin mode or via I2C bus. The bridge-tied load (BTL) output of the piezo driver is capable of driving up to 40Vpp signal in a very wide supply voltage range from 1.6V to 5.5V.

MAS6513 – 24-bit Capacitive Sensor Signal Conditioning IC

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces sensor signal conditioning IC primarily intended for humidity and pressure sensor modules. The MAS6513 can interface both single and dual capacitance sensors.

The heart of the IC comprises of a delta-sigma based capacitance to digital converter (CDC) with a high-resolution output (24-bit). Three different capacitance measurement modes are supported and the output can be proportional to capacitance difference (CS-CR), ratio (CS-CR)/CS or a sum (CS+CR). In addition to capacitance measurement the device has on-chip temperature sensor which is capable of measuring temperature in wide temperature range from -40 °C to +125 °C.

The device can operate in wide range of supplies from 1.9 V to 5.5 V and it has an extremely low current consumption down to 0.77 μA for one capacitance and temperature measurement in a second. This makes it an ideal solution for battery powered and power critical applications. 

Built-in 24-bit calculation engine produces calibrated high-resolution output which can comprise of up to 3rd order linearization and 2nd order temperature compensation of sensor capacitance value and up to 2nd order linearization of the on-chip temperature sensor signal. The device includes a 512-bit EEPROM memory for storing capacitive sensor front-end trim values and calibration coefficients on-chip.

The MAS6513 can run measurements either command based (One shot mode) or automatically (Continuous mode). Optional interrupt output can be configured to given an interrupt when new results are available or when any result has exceeded programmable alert limits. Communication via standard 2-wire I²C bus and 4/3-wire SPI serial interfaces is supported.

MAS6287 – Ultra-wide temperature range VCTCXO IC

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces ultra-wide temperature range VCTCXOIC primarily intended for very wide temperature range VCTCXO and TCXO modules.

MAS6287 is a VCTCXO IC targeted for very wide temperature range VCTCXOs and TCXOs. The device uses patented fully analog temperature compensation method making it possible to achieve ±1 ppm or better frequency stability over ultra-wide temperature range -60 °C … +125 °C. Small size makes it suited also for small modules.

It has typical power consumption only 2.5 mA at 40MHz. Low phase noise of -134 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz allows the use of the MAS6287 in demanding applications. The frequency stability against load or supply voltage changes is excellent. Operating supply voltage range is from 2.8V to 3.6V. It has programmable divider function allowing the output frequency range of 8 MHz to 52 MHz. Output waveform can be selected from clipped sine wave or CMOS.

MAS6230 – High Efficiency 60W Synchronous Buck-Boost DC/DC Converter

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces High Efficiency 60W Synchronous Buck-Boost DC/DC Converter primarily intended for USB-PD car charger and industrial applications.

MAS6230 is a high efficiency synchronous buck-boost DC/DC converter IC with integrated switches. This makes external power switches unnecessary and offers a small size power supply solution for USB-PD car charger applications. Wide input voltage range from 7V to 36V allows using MAS6230 in both 12V and 24V car battery systems and covers wide range of industrial applications. The output voltage is adjustable from 4V to 20V by two external resistors. There are two control pins which make it possible to select output voltage from four voltage options such as 5V, 9V, 15V and 20V.

The buck-boost DC/DC converter achieves over 90% efficiencies and can delivery up to 60W output power. The maximum output current is 3A in buck mode. MAS6230 integrates over temperature (OTP) and output overvoltage protection (OVP) circuitry to prevent damage under fault conditions. Samples are available in a thin 7x7x0.75 mm 48-lead QFN package. MAS6260 – Li-ion and LiPo battery charger IC with LDO

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces Li-ion and LiPo battery charger IC with LDO primarily intended for portable electronic products.

MAS6260 is a charger IC for single-cell Li-Ion and LiPo batteries. It includes 150mA low-dropout (LDO) regulator and protection functions for battery and the IC. Charging uses CC/CV algorithm and its fast charge current is programmable up to 400mA with an external resistor. Pre-charge and termination currents are determined relative to programmed fast charge current. The MAS6260 is available with three different floating voltage options; 4.2V, 4.35V and 4.4V.

The device has automatic power path control. When input supply voltage is available all power is taken from the input. That includes battery charging and loading from LDO and SYS pins. When valid input voltage is not available and the battery is not empty the device switches to battery power. MAS6260 includes battery overcharge, overdischarge and overtemperature protection. Additionally, there is overcurrent protection at the input (VIN) and at both outputs (SYS, LDO). There are four different faulty conditions at which the device gives distinctive fault condition signals. Charging and shutdown modes are controlled from the system. In shutdown mode the battery current consumption is minimized to maximize battery life.

MAS1641 – Capacitance Change Detection with Piezo Alarm

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces a very low power single chip solution for a capacitance change detection and a piezo alarm. Typical applications include battery powered alarm systems detecting infusion liquid level drop or water leakage.

The MAS1641 can be configured to detect either capacitance reduction or increase over a threshold which is adjustable by external resistors. A very high sound pressure level (SPL) alarm is achieved by voltage boosting solution which is based on an inductor free, low EMI and high efficiency 3x charge pump. The output driver stage can drive up to 18Vpp intermittent alarm signal to the piezo just from a low 3V supply. It can operate from a low supply voltage down to 2.25V and it draws only a very low 36uA current when monitoring capacitance change.

MAS6505 – 22-bit Low Power Low Noise Piezoresistive Sensor Signal Interface IC

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces piezoresistive sensor signal interface IC primarily intended for MEMS based pressure sensor modules. The device offers extremely low current consumption (down to 0.8 uA, one measurement in a second) which make it an ideal solution for battery powered and power critical applications. The heart of the IC comprises of a chopper amplifier with very low noise performance (0.27 uVrms) and delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with very high resolution (22-bit).

The MAS6505 can operate in very wide range of supply voltages (1.71 V…5.5 V) and over industrial temperature range (-40 °C…+90 °C). For temperature compensation purposes it supports two different temperature sensing methods; sensor bridge resistance sensing or using external temperature sensing diode. 512-bit EEPROM memory is available for storing sensor trimming and calibration coefficients on chip. The device is operated using standard I2C and SPI serial bus interfaces.

MAS6251 – Piezo and LED Driver IC for Self Drive Type Piezo

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces combined piezo and LED driver IC in a small QFN-16 3x3x0.75 mm package. It is a high efficiency, easy to use and low cost solution for piezo sound applications requiring highest sound pressure level (SPL). Typical applications include piezo buzzers, various alarm products, white goods and handheld or portable devices with sound feature. The MAS6251 includes LED driver which offers additional area and cost saving in many applications using LEDs.

The heart of the IC is a high efficiency synchronous boost DC/DC converter requiring only a small 0806 sized 2.2mH inductor. The output voltage is regulated and adjustable up to 17.5V by external resistors. The bridge-tied load (BTL) output of the piezo driver is capable of driving up to 35Vpp signal in a very wide supply voltage range from 1.2V to 5.5V. The piezo driver is designed for three terminal self drive type piezoelectric transducers which produce very loud sound at resonance frequency of the piezo.

The LED driver supports use of pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming control and is capable of driving up to 15mA current. The LED current is adjustable by external resistor. When not used the device enters shut down operating mode (typ 0.11mA) to save power.
